FACEBOOK: Proud to be Roman Catholic

I sorta noted to myself that if challenged on my membership in the Roman Catholic Church (the only legitimate Christian Church outside of which there is no salvation) by "friends" in my facebook.com profile, I'd just point out the overwhelming white, middle class nature of atheistic liberalism and the Churches' diversity (diversity being a favorite liberal touch-stone).

My quip is this: whenever I look at the latest members of the FACEBOOK group "Proud to be Roman Catholic" I can scarcely pronounce the names. So, who exactly, is "diverse"?

Mother Theresa on Abortion

Mother Teresa of Calcutta - "Abortion kills twice. It kills the body of the baby and it kills the conscience of the mother." Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters of its victims are women: Half the babies and all the mothers.

Heard an interesting stat that the demographic most in favor of abortion "rights" - males 20-40. Makes you go "hmmm."

Another Priest Gets It

H/T to freerepublic .com, in the Sacramento Bee

Several people attending Mass on Saturday evening at St. Joseph's Catholic Church said they support a Modesto priest who is urging parishioners to go to confession if they voted for Barack Obama.

The Rev. Joseph Illo took issue with Obama's position condoning abortion in a Nov. 21 letter sent to 15,000 members of St. Joseph's parish. "If ... you were clear on his position and you knew the gravity of the question, I urge you to go to confession before receiving communion," his letter said.

Rick Walsh of Modesto said he was in full agreement with Illo's sending the letter. He said there were other issues at stake in the presidential election but "human life trumps anything beyond that."

Mary Frampton of Modesto said, "There is no more serious moral issue than the killing of the unborn." She said she was 100 percent in support of Illo's position.

The Culture of Death Speaks

In the London Times:

Eugenics is one of those knock-down words used to silence argument. It was used several times last week, in radio discussions and articles about women choosing to give birth to babies with Down’s syndrome.

The subject came up partly as advance publicity for a Sky Real Lives television documentary this Wednesday about a heroic young woman who adopted seven babies with Down’s, whose mothers had rejected them. There was also a BBC news story last week suggesting that more women these days are knowingly choosing to give birth to babies with Down’s.

In fact the news story was misleading.

Actually, the proportion of pregnant women who choose to abort their foetuses when antenatal screening has detected Down’s syndrome has remained constant since screening started, at about 91%. Also the number of Down’s abortions has tripled since 1989. The total number of babies born with Down’s each year has indeed increased since then, but not by much. This small increase may be due in part to the fact that many women have children when they are much older these days, and some of them refuse antenatal screening.

~snip~

I protest out of long personal experience.

Someone close to me in our family has a learning disability, which has been a handicap and a sorrow to her, and my lifelong experience of children and adults with learning disabilities, including many with Down’s, as they have grown older has given me a different perspective. I am convinced that it is a grave misfortune for babies to be born with Down’s or any comparably serious syndrome. It’s a misfortune for their parents and their siblings as well. Sad observations over decades have convinced me: a damaged baby is a damaged family, even now.

Bold mine. Wow. Just wow. Someone's child won't be going to Eton and then on to Oxford, oh the tragedy. She's right here though ...
There are some strange contradictions surrounding the question of abortion. People who reject abortion as always wrong are consistent and one cannot argue with them. But anyone who thinks abortion is acceptable under some circumstances, and who yet disapproves of what’s emotionally seen as “eugenic” abortion, is in an untenable position.
Pro-life is all or nothing.

A commenter writes "no one has the right to judge another's unique and personal situation."

Then, how is it that a parent can be allowed kill their child? Contradiction.

Speaking of the Philippines

I'll be blogging from the Philippines from Dec 6. until Jan 2. Going to visit the in-laws, gets some R&R, contemplate my future and prospect some real estate.

Not that the fate of the U.S.A has any significant effect on me but .... let me credit this image to a post over at great blog I stumbled over: Sorry, All the Clever Names Are Taken:

I think Robert from Ga. over there is like my southern doppelganger, his wifey is from a city in the Philippines just across the channel from my in-laws. His blog hits on the same themes as this one.

Showdown Alright, But Not the Right One

From the Washington Times:

President-elect Barack Obama's plan to pass the Freedom of Choice Act is setting up a showdown with the Vatican.

"The first thing I will do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," he said at an address before Planned Parenthood on July 17, 2007. And if he does, it will trigger a harsh response from Pope Benedict XVI, as well as a political revolt among practicing American Catholics.

Mr. Obama signing the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) "would be the equivalent of a war," a senior Vatican official told Time magazine last week. "It would be like saying, 'We've heard the Catholic Church and we have no interest in their concerns.' " At a recent Baltimore meeting, the U.S. Catholic bishops pledged to challenge Mr. Obama on his defense of abortion rights.

FOCA seeks to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. It would remove all restrictions on abortion in state statutes - including restraints on late-term abortions and parental notification laws. It would also entrench taxpayer funding of abortion. Moreover, it would compel Catholic health-care facilities to provide the heinous procedure. In short, it constitutes a fundamental assault on basic Catholic doctrine.

Mr. Obama is a radical on abortion. He is vehemently pro-choice, even opposing the ban on partial-birth abortion. While in the Illinois state legislature, Mr. Obama voted against legislation protecting babies born in botched abortions.

...

Yet, abortion is the seminal moral issue of our time. Nearly 50 million unborn babies have been murdered since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in 1973. If one includes Europe, the number of dead fetuses is staggering. Abortion has claimed more victims than either of the two great totalitarian ideologies of the 20th century, communism and Nazism.

Both Pope Benedict and the late Pope John Paul II have not only decried abortion as state-sanctioned infanticide, but explicitly - and repeatedly - said it must be outlawed: There can be no compromise with such monstrous barbarism. Abortion is akin to the Jewish question in Europe during the 1930s: Should an entire class of people be denied their essential humanity?

This is like saying Western democracies should have come to terms with the Aryan racial laws of Nazi Germany, and sought to minimize the number of Jews sent to the gas ovens. The argument is morally repugnant and politically naïve. Ultimately, accommodation with evil never works. We learned that with Nazi Germany and with slavery in this country.

Pro-Obama Catholics fail to recognize abortion is the centerpiece of the 1960s sexual revolution. The secular left spearheaded this frontal assault on Christianity and traditional bourgeois civilization.

The result has been the proliferation of pornography, rampant permissiveness, the loss of innocence among many of our teens, the coarsening of our culture, sky-rocketing divorce rates, countless children raised in broken homes, and the deaths of millions due to sexually transmitted diseases.

Rather than a hedonistic utopia, liberal progressives have engendered a social nightmare. They must defend abortion at all costs because their goal is to make sex consequence free, forging a revolutionary order characterized by moral relativism and unlimited sexual gratification. But sex is never consequence free: it is laden with moral choices.

The Vatican is the last line of defense against the new Dark Age. It is time for the Holy Father to personally speak out against FOCA and warn pro-choice Catholics in the Obama administration they will not only be refused communion at Mass but face excommunication. No self-respecting, principled Catholic can or should support murder - regardless of who occupies the White House.

Wow. I had to post nearly the entire article.

The Pope need not concern himself with the Grand Mufti of AmeriKa. The real issue is with apostates inside the walls of Christianity. Take care of the Judases and the rest will take care of itself. The Pope has temporal authority over Christians, let the excommunications commence.

Not just the recent Popes have condemned abortion as murder ... I've been getting some awesome quotes from Saints and Bishops from the last 2000 years in a FACEBOOK group, Catholic and Proud of It.

I really like how this article brings up 1930s Germany. I'll be returning to this theme again and again. The economic and social parallels are palpable.

And One Monk Who Does Not

The Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan spiritual and temporal leader, on Friday said sex spelt fleeting satisfaction and trouble later, while chastity offered a better life and "more freedom."

"Sexual pressure, sexual desire, actually I think is short period satisfaction and often, that leads to more complication," the Dalai Lama told reporters in a Lagos hotel, speaking in English without a translator.

He said conjugal life caused "too much ups and downs."

Considered a Buddhist Master exempt from the religion's wheel of death and reincarnation, the Dalai Lama waxed eloquent on the Buddhist credo of non-attachment.

"Too much attachment towards your children, towards your partner," was "one of the obstacle or hindrance of peace of mind," he said.

The Dalai is to be congratulated for a clear explanation of his religion. In regard to sex outside of marriage, the Dalai's view of sex is right on the money. Sex between unmarried and married couple cannot even be compared, they are not the same thing. The unmarried act being usually of desperation, rape or selfishness, the married act being of selflessness, of love. But he is clearly lumping all sex together which renders his pronouncement quite silly. In it we can see Buddhism's fanciful rejection of our basic human nature, it's uselessness and a sort of second-guessing of God's plan. He isn't wrong so much as he is not seeing the whole picture, he sees only part and then erroneously extends it as a whole.

One fun way to evaluate something is to make it universal law and then see what happens. What does the Dalai propose? If everyone achieves this "peace" by following his dictats, do we all live in cells and report periodically to the reproductive center just to keep the race going? Can everyone be a monk? Of course not, that's like dictating that every animal must be an owl.

In this Buddhist pronouncement we see a dreary, monochromatic world. Contrast this with the Christian vision with its emphasis on love in all of its versions with people seperated out into vocations: the religious, the celibate, the married.

Summary: Buddhism is useless outside of being an actual Buddhist monk, hence its attractiveness to counter-culture types in the West who are not seeking God but are throwing on a religion only to later justify their intellectually superior athiesm.

There's One Priest Who Gets It

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil."

The Rev. Jay Scott Newman said in a letter distributed Sunday to parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville that they are putting their souls at risk if they take Holy Communion before doing penance for their vote.

"Our nation has chosen for its chief executive the most radical pro-abortion politician ever to serve in the United States Senate or to run for president," Newman wrote, referring to Obama by his full name, including his middle name of Hussein.

"Voting for a pro-abortion politician when a plausible pro-life alternative exits constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil, and those Catholics who do so place themselves outside of the full communion of Christ's Church and under the judgment of divine law. Persons in this condition should not receive Holy Communion until and unless they are reconciled to God in the Sacrament of Penance, lest they eat and drink their own condemnation."

...

"I don't understand anyone who would call themselves a Christian, let alone a Catholic, and could vote for someone who's a pro-abortion candidate," said Ted Kelly, 64, who volunteers his time as lector for the church. "You're talking about the murder of innocent
beings."

Actually I have to give credit where credit is due. I nearly feinted in the pews three weeks ago when the priest at the parish of my son's school said explicitly at Mass during the homily that Roman Catholics cannot support pro-abortion candidates like Barack Hussein Obama. That was the first time I have ever heard a Novus Ordo priest use the word abortion never mind clearly identify politicians who support it and insis that we not support them.

Pro-life homilies are the norm at the local Tridentine Mass religious order but it is nice to see the diocesian Novus Ordo priests getting with the program.

This is Not America: A Dark Vision

Watch as a McCain/Palin supporter is arrested for the crime of wearing a McCain/Palin t-shirt and showing up at Philadelphia City Hall plaza on Election Night.

Get used to this. Liberal managers will fire McCain/Palin supporters. Speech will be curtailed, property will be confiscated and the State will exercise control over all children.

This Revolution will be televised (or at least until You Tube cancels the non-liberal poster accounts.)

Bin Bama Zombie Attack

From my knowledge of the Dawn of the Dead series, usually a head shot does the trick on them. I'm waiting for the one who come to my house telling me that my children have mandatory community service.

Reason 4,563,467 Why Not to Send the Kids to Public School

Presented here: video of the Ayatollah Obama's Education Secretary Mrs. Lola B Williams of Asheville, NC.

Already, I've forewarned my kids' private school principal and teacher that I was alarmed at some involvement with the local school district. Now is the time to be extra vigilent.

First they will take the guns, then they will take the free speech and next they'll get the children.

Diary of a Mad Man

This man is insane: Talk of "changing the World" or "new eras." It boggles the mind that after withstanding the attacks on Sept 11, 2008 when the liberals smirked, the U.S.A. could turn around and elect a man out of the same mold as the attackers.

All this speaks to the power of media, and quite deceptive mental programming on the part of International Marxists and Satan, the Father of All Lies.

John McCain Peterborough, NH Nov 2, 2008

The boys and I were there! Waited in line for something like an hour and then got positioned outside their main Town Hall. Eight hundred lucky ones made it inside but John pulled up in the Straight Talk Express and addressed the crowd for a few minutes. We were about 35 feet back. I had my 5 year old on my shoulders and my 4 yr old held up high. I was holding about 90 pounds of kids up for about ten minutes. That's Red Sox Legend Curt Schilling and his wife to the right in the red jackets.

I have to admit, it was an exhilarating experience and biggest thing that made me come away from the experience was this: the People.

No matter what happens, there will continue to millions of us who love God, who love America and have our heads screwed on straight. John McCain is an honest man and he is Pro-Life. I've wondered why the Left has not attacked him more for this ... perhaps it is because they know that there is a pro-life groundswell in this country and they know that conservative have had quibbles with McCain on various issues.

Some Issues are More Important than Others.

2.9 Million Hispanic Voters Get Anti-Obama Email from Bishop

WASHINGTON, October 31, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An audio clip by Texas Auxiliary Bishop Rene Gracida was sent this morning to 2.9 Million Hispanic Voters via email. The clip, which is also running on radio and TV in swing states, says:

Dear Friends,

We only have days left before a critical election to elect a new president. In this moment, like no other moment in history, Hispanic votes will decide the future of the United States. That means that we have a great weight of responsibility.

During this election, there are many Catholics who have told the Catholic people that it is ok to vote for Obama for president.

That is simply not true. Unfortunately, it is a lie.

Please, read the words of a beloved Hispanic bishop, Bishop Rene H. Gracida, who has faithfully served the Hispanic Catholics of Florida and Texas.

"I am Bishop Rene A. Gracida, reminding all Catholics that they need to vote in these elections with an informed conscience.

A Catholic cannot say that he/she voted in this election in good conscience if he/she votes for a candidate in favor of abortion.

Barak Hussein Obama is a candidate in favor of abortion." Listen. Atender a razones.

Above His Paygrade, Mephistopheles Himself

Obama's Lord is the Dark One. It has been foretold.

Obama is Satan

from the The Washington Times

If you want to know Barack Obama's real views on abortion, you should meet registered nurse Jill Stanek.

Mrs. Stanek worked at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois from 1993 to 2001. When she worked in the hospital's Labor and Delivery Department she saw that babies who survived abortion attempts were left to die alone in supply rooms. They could linger for as long as eight hours, without medical care, without even the dignity of a warm blanket or a soft touch. Their tiny bodies were then dumped in the trash. Mr. Obama's spiritual mentor served on the board of the hospital. Mrs. Stanek went on a public crusade to protect these children.

At a 2001 Illinois legislature hearing, Mr. Obama questioned Mrs. Stanek. She insisted that children needed medical care if they were born alive. Mr. Obama said: "Ms. Stanek, your initial testimony last year showed your dismay at the lack of regard for human life. I agreed with you last year and we suggested that there be a Comfort Room or something of that nature be done. The hospital acknowledged that and changes were made and you are still unimpressed. It sounds to me like you are really not interested in how these fetus [es] are treated, but rather not providing absolutely any medical care or life to them."

Mrs. Stanek replied: "What the hospital did was try to make things look better. What it really is, is that the baby is still dead."

In committee testimony, Mr. Obama said it was sufficient to give "comfort care" to a baby that is born despite all the efforts to kill it. "Comfort care" means giving the infant a warm blanket and permitting the baby to be held by someone as it dies. This is the most Mr. Obama could find in his heart to provide - a warm blanket for a child grasping for life.

Obama is evil, he is Satan personified. He has no soul. He must be stopped.
