The new Catholic Mass is called the Novus Ordo (1969 - present). The Tridentine is the same Mass that had existed since around 500 A.D. but it just got a few finishing touches around the time of the Council of Trent (1545-1563). The Tridentine has fallen into disuse and it barely tolerated at all in the Roman Catholic Church at this time.
I offer the two for consideration.
First the Novus Ordo as officiated this year by Cardinal Roger Mahoney of Los Angeles, California, USA.
Then, a Tridentine Mass filmed on Easter Sunday in 1941 at Our Lady of Sorrows church in Chicago. The film presents the ceremonies of the Missa Solemnis or Solemn High Mass in full detail with narration by then-Mgr. Fulton J. Sheen.

Excellent contrast. The liberal liturgies in the Los Angeles and Orange County area are what drove me to visit Eastern rite Catholic Churches for a while. I found a solid Latin Rite Liturgy now though. At least the Eastern Rites still have the sense of holiness.
