Edwards Campaign Shucks Off Anti-Catholic Bigot

Over at moonbat central it is all in the form of a "decision to resign" and charges that Roman Catholics don't like to see women in positions of power (thus explaining the adoration of St. Mary and the personages of Mother Angelica, Mother Theresa and Mother Cabrini.) Frankly, no campaign can tolerate unmitigated hate-filled smut. You can leave condolences for Amanda Marcotte here. Apparently she moved to Edwards' campaign HQ (in the Carolinas?) and now she is out of a job and out of dough. I sincerely hopes she hooks up with the Clinton or Obama campaign because she is a powerhouse of mainstream Democrat ideals.

Just today Wiliam Donahue of the Catholic League issued this broadside: under the headline

EDWARDS BLOGGER STRIKES AGAIN:

THEY MUST BE FIRED NOW!

“John Edwards had better fire Marcotte and McEwan immediately. As I said last week on TV, these two foul-mouthed bigots are loose cannons with no particular loyalty to Edwards."

The fun thing is that there's double blowback for the Edwards campaign. (1) Leftists at Pandagon are writing Edwards off and (2) it'll get around that he refused to officially fire the bigots.

No word yet on Ms. Melissa McEwan, the other, even more foul mouthed twin. Perhaps she is being spared given her bachelors degree from Loyola University, a Jesuit institution.
