Good Bye, Breck Girl

From Israelated, a community for English blogging related to Israel and Israeli culture.

Good Bye, John Edwards

and good riddance!

If Edwards even thought he had a chance against the stars of the Democrats, Obama and Clinton, and if he thought his previous association with Lurch (a.k.a. John Kerry) did not hurt his chances this time around, he now nailed his own coffin.

Edwards says Israel's potential attack on Iran's nuclear reactor is the greatest threat to the world. Note that he did not say a hostile Iran or North Korea with nuclear weapons is the greatest threat. He said Israel potentially attacking iran's nuclear reactor after being threatened with armageddon on many occassions by Iran's president is the greatest threat.

he will be hard pressed to find any supporters now. He can kiss the rest of his campaign good-bye.
That's pretty sweet work by the dead-baby channeling ambulance chaser: pissing off Roman Catholics and Jews in the same month. These two social groups have long ties and deep roots in the Democrat party and these certainly need to be re-examined.

The funny thing is that during my inquisition over at, a Edwards supporting moonbat took a peak over here, saw that I liked the Latin Mass and one asked: "Any strong feelings about Jews?"

I aswered, "Well only my 1st, 2nd, 4th grade teachers and this cute chick that invited me to her to the senior prom."

The moonbat had no rejoinder.

Clericus Cup: Collegio Mater Ecclesiae 6 - Gregorian University Brazilians 0

(AP) The fans were pious. The players bound for glory. And the victory? A miracle. Priests and seminarians from several soccer-loving countries took to a field near the looming dome of St. Peter's Basilica Saturday for the first match of the Clericus Cup, a tournament fielding 16 teams from Catholic institutes in Rome.

"You are playing in view of St. Peter's cupola, so behave well," admonished Cardinal Pio Laghi before giving the official kickoff at a small arena on a hill overlooking the Vatican.

In Italy soccer is a hallowed game, taken almost as seriously as Catholicism, and the players were all business once the whistle was blown.

Amid screams from the coaches, pious slogans from the small crowd and T-shirts invoking the protection of the Virgin Mary, a motley crew of Latin Americans, Africans and Asians from the Collegio Mater Ecclesiae (Mother of the Church College) took on an all-Brazilian team fielded by the Gregorian University.

In a miraculous upset, the young Mater Ecclesiae players trounced the more experienced but portly Brazilians 6-0 as their fans chanted: "The Mother of the Church wants a goal!"

The game had its share of hard tackles and rough play, with the first goal coming from a penalty kick _ the second in the match.

Still, in the end it was all handshakes and smiles between the teams, in what officials and players hope will set a good example for Italian professional soccer, which has been recently marred by fan violence and scandal.

The Clericus Cup should "reaffirm the educational and pastoral value of sport," and "strengthen feelings of true friendship and fruitful sharing," said a message from Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican's No. 2 official.

"We have lost but we are all laughing, and this shows that sport should be a joy for all," said Reginei Jose Modolo, a 32-year-old midfielder on the Gregorian University team. On the field, he goes by the name of "Zico," a Brazilian soccer star.

The tournament is also a second chance for many clergymen who left promising soccer careers to follow their spiritual calling, said Marco Rosales, a Mexican seminarian who coaches the Mater Ecclesiae team.

"Some on the team had a chance to play professionally, but the Lord called them to His team," he said.

Talk about a news story right up the alley of Ad Jesu per Mariam! The funny thing about this is that the communists at CBS filed this under "Strange News." I guess this is appropriate enough for the fake but accurate network.

God is Not a Secret - The Bible Knew Before Modern Science

Below are just a few comparisons of statements made in biblical texts and their subsequent discovery by science. Bear in mind that the BIBLE was written 2,000 - 3,000 YEARS AGO!

Reason #456,378 Why to Avoid Public Schools

From the Shelbyville Times Gazette:

Global warming advocates target children

One thing this writer finds disturbing about the "global warming" topic
is the effect the constant hysterical propaganda is having on children
who are exposed to it.

Several weeks ago, I related memories of how we kids in the 1970's were told of all sorts of dire futures that awaited us unless we "did something" about the problems of global freezing, The Population Bomb, pollution, oil shortages and the potential death of every lifeform in the sea.

We passed the projected dates of doom with none of these horrors coming true, but now a new generation of kids are having their brains filled with the same kind of scare mongering that was inflicted on us. The tone these days is much more panic-stricken.

And it's creating all sorts of ill effects with the kids. According to a study by British supermarket chain Somerfield, half of young children in that country are anxious about the effects of global warming, "often losing sleep because of their concern."

Well, when schools and the media are constantly pumping this new eco-religion into their skulls, what did you expect? more
During my day it was worry over nuclear war but the teachers did not exactly pound it into us. I thought for sure that we were gonners but that was just me. I kinda like the think globally, act locally mentality as there is something soothing in taking action in your local sphere of influence.
There are reports that children are under stress as some perceive that their parents are not undertaking the supposedly preventative measures in comparison to the school. Soon the communists will want the children to report on their parents.

The way to fix this, of course, is to tell the children that they can have no computers, no television and no battery or electric powered toys. That ought to bring them around.

What is getting bandied about nowadays is a new religion pushed by far left wackos. Children need to be trained to turn the tables on the teachers and demand to know why the schools are shut down for a week in February and a week in April when everybody knows it is a big waste of energy. Children need to be trained to turn around and ask the teachers how they arived at school that morning, did they bicycle?

Cardinal Pell of Australia on this new cult:
“What we were seeing from the doomsdayers was an induced dose of mild hysteria, semi-religious if you like, but dangerously close to superstition,” he said. “I would be surprised if industrial pollution, and carbon emissions, had no ill effect at all. But enough is enough.”
Unfortunatley the climate issue is skewed by international communists like Al Gore who is on the payroll of red China. Al flies there frequently but will not exactly reveal why. My theory is that the communists know that there system is prone to failure and the only way to weaken the west to attack it industrially while China spews unremitting pollution.

There may be something to global warming but one needs cautious about the hype.

Two Languages, One Event

The Big Bang Theory of creation of the universion implies a singularity, a starting point, a point of nothingness from which everything was created. I think it foresquare at a Creator.

Or in ancient and far more poetic words:

1 In the beginning God created heaven, and earth. 2 And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters. 3 And God said: Be light made. And light was made. 4 And God saw the light that it was good; and he divided the light from the darkness. 5 And he called the light Day, and the darkness Night; and there was evening and morning one day.

Doing What Socialists Do

Britain Dragging Other Countries into Ethical and Moral Abyss

“There is virtually no area of pro-life or pro-family ethical concern which has not been made worse by the Blair government.

By Hilary White

LONDON, February 22, 2007 ( – The National Director of the UK’s Society for the Protection of Unborn Children in a February 16 interview with Zenit Catholic news agency, denounced Prime Minister Tony Blair and Labour party policies that, he said, “have plunged Britain into an ethical abyss.”

Smeaton told Zenit that among the first things Blair did when coming to power in 1997 was to implement a program of abortion and contraception for schoolgirls as young as 11 without parents' knowledge or consent.

Blair also brought forward discussion of laws surrounding end-of-life care that led to the 2005 Mental Capacity Act, set to come into force in April, that in some cases requires doctors to starve and dehydrate patients to death.
A sharp turnaround by Britain’s religious leadership, he said, is the only hope for the country. He decried the Catholic Church’s “lack of clear teaching on culture of life issues” that has left children undefended in schools.

The hope, he said, lies in the ability of Rome under the new Pontiff to appoint bishops who lead a turnaround and revive a morally serious public debate. With strong religious leadership lay-led organizations such as SPUC, will become more effective.
Without it, Smeaton paints a bleak picture. With the legislation already passed such as the Mental Capacity Act, and the increasingly draconian laws regarding homosexuality, Smeaton said bluntly, “lay people who seek to defend life, marriage and the family may be imprisoned.”
Blair's wife claims to be Catholic though she mostly dabbles in new age occultism. Blair himself has had the audacity to present himself for communion. Which begs the question: Why don't these heretics, apostates and godless heathens stay the hell out of our churches? The question also goes to you Senators Kennedy and Kerry. You act as if the Roman Catholic Church was the only true church, outside of which there is no salvation......yeah wait.... that's an interesting idea!

Roman Catholic Church Top of the Pops in the UK

Almost 500 years after Henry VIII founded the Church of England, the Roman Catholic Church is set to surpass it and become Britain's largest denomination.
A new report says immigration -- especially from Catholic countries in Eastern Europe -- is building up numbers in the Catholic Church, The Times of London reported. The Anglican Church is in a long-term decline.

In 2006, both Catholic and Anglican churches averaged 1 million people in the pews

The Catholic Church has a strong hold on many immigrants, who turn to it for help in a new country. The report found that until last year, the Catholic Church -- like the Anglican -- was declining.

The influx has also changed the Catholic Church. In the past, it was a mix of English and Irish communicants.
every Sunday. But the Catholics clearly have upward momentum, the newspaper said.
Pictured is Saint George, the patron saint of England. It seems that the Emperor Diocletian had St. George tortured to make him deny his faith in Christ. King Henry VIII tried to do the same as Diocletian and the idea of Henry rolling in his grave warms my heart.

The bulk of the growth in the UK is mainly due to the influx of Poles. It has been noted that this has improved the lot of marriage minded Catholic men in the UK given the beauty and traditional values of these Eastern European women. My grandfather, an irishman, fell for one hook, line and sinker some 60 years ago. My grandmother was from Lithuania, her dad was a Russian in fact and she was an amazingly beautiful woman. I once chided my grandparents as to how on earth a goofy looking guy could snag a beauty like her. Funny, I pulled the same trick as my grandad, only my foreign beauty is from Asia. My grandma used to work at a candy store and my grandfather used to come around quite often. This was in the Depression era Bemis section of Watertown, located just west of Boston.

Anyways, I've linked to two fine British parishes: Our Lady of the Rosary in Blackfen, home of Hermeneutics of the Continuity and St Mary Magdalen in Brighton. Sometimes I like to make cybervisits to England and I dream often of the place.

Feast Day of Saint Peter Damian

Today is the fest day of Saint Peter Damian, a famous Dominican monk and Cardinal. From Our Lady's Warriors:

Among St. Peter Damian's most famous writings is his lengthy treatise, Letter 31, the Book of Gomorrah (Liber Gomorrhianus), containing the most extensive treatment and condemnation by any Church Father of clerical pederasty and homosexual practices. [2] His manly discourse on the vice of sodomy in general and clerical homosexuality and pederasty in particular, is written in a plain and forthright style that makes it quite readable and easy to understand.

In keeping with traditional Church teachings handed down from the time of the Apostles, he holds that all homosexual acts are crimes against Nature and therefore crimes against God who is the author of Nature.

It is also refreshing to find an ecclesiastic whose first and primary concern in the matter of clerical sexual immorality is for God's interests, not man's, especially with regard to homosexuality in clerical ranks. Also, his special condemnation of pederastic crimes by clergy against young boys and men (including those preparing for holy orders) made over nine hundred years ago, certainly tends to undermine the excuse of many American bishops and Cardinals who claim that they initially lacked specific knowledge and psychological insights by which to assess the seriousness of clerical pederastic crimes.

Upon a first reading of the Book of Gomorrah I think the average Catholic would find himself in a state of shock at the severity of Damian's condemnation of clerical sodomical practices as well as the severe penalties that he asks Pope Leo IX to attach to such practices.

Part of this reaction, as J. Wilhelm asserts with regard to modern Catholics' adverse reaction to the severity of medieval penalties (including capital punishment for heresy), can be attributed to the fact that we live in an age that has "less regard for the purity of the faith". [3] Many Catholics have simply lost a sense of sin. It does not seem to matter if an overt effete homosexual cleric "camps" it out on the altar while administering heretical rites for an Ash Wednesday service. Like those watching Hilaire Belloc's new barbarians at the gate, parishioners smile. They are titillated. They find him 'amusing'. [4]

Also, many Catholics today have little, if any, knowledge of how the early Church Fathers dealt with the issue of homosexuality, including pederasty, in clerical ranks.

Take, for example, the spiritual and physical penalties declared by the 4th Century architect of Eastern monasticism, St. Basil of Cesarea (322-379AD), for the cleric or monk caught making sexual advances (kissing) or sexually molesting young boys or men. The convicted offender was to be whipped in public, deprived of his tonsure (head shaven), bound in chains and imprisoned for six months, after which he was to be contained in a separate cell and ordered to undergo severe penances and prayer vigils to expedite his sins under the watchful eye of an elder spiritual brother. His diet was that of water and barley bread - the fodder of animals. Outside his cell, while engaged in manual labor and moving about the monastery, the pederast monk was to be always monitored by two fellow monks to insure that he never again had any contact with young men or boys. [5]

One wonders how many homosexuals and pederasts would be lining up at Bernard Cardinal Law's [or Cardinal O'Malley's] or any other American prelates, seminary door if they knew that such a harsh fate awaited them if they were found guilty of even attempting much less carrying out the sexual seduction and molestation of minor boys and young men? And speaking of seminaries, I might mention the papal ruling of St. Siricius, a contemporary of St. Basil, who ordered that "vessels of vice," that is known sodomists, including those who had fulfilled their penance, were forbidden from seeking entrance to the clerical state. [6]

Considering that the Book of Gomorrah was written in 1049 A.D. it borders on the miraculous to note how many of Damian's insights can be applied to the current pederast and homosexual debacle here in the United States and abroad, including the Vatican.

Indian Gov't to Raise Abandoned Girls

NEW DELHI - The Indian government plans to set up a series of orphanages to raise unwanted baby girls in a bid to halt the widespread practice of aborting female fetuses, according to a senior government official.

Dubbed the "cradle scheme," the plan is an attempt to slow the practice that international groups say has killed more than 10 million female fetuses in the last two decades, leading to an alarming imbalance in the ratio between males and females in India, Renuka Chowdhury, the minister of state for women and child development, told the Press Trust of India news agency in an interview published Sunday.

"What we are saying to the people is have your children, don't kill them. And if you don't want a girl child, leave her to us," Chowdhury told the agency, adding that the government planned to set up a center in each regional district.

"We will bring up the children. But don't kill them because there really is a crisis situation," she said.

On Sunday, police arrested a gynecologist and janitor at a hospital near the central Indian city of Bhopal after the discovery of nearly 400 bones from fetuses and newborns in a pit behind the hospital. It is believed they are the remains of unwanted baby girls.

Asked if the scheme would not encourage parents to abandon female infants, Chowdhury said: "It doesn't matter. It is better than killing them."

A few observations:

  • Renuka Chowdhury gets it. Sounds like he is interested in having his culture go into the next century.
  • Doesn't this sentence sound weird? - groups say has killed more than 10 million female fetuses. Is the feutus not a human? if not then how can she have a gender? Feutus is Latin for "little one" not some sterile technical term which should make one feel comfortable about murdering it. Fetus is masculine in gender. In English nogender gets ascribed to words. So how can this thing be female? Looks like the hand of the Associated Press drone slipped a bit.
  • This story gives the lie to abortion. In America it is always hysterical rare examples of evil uncle raped the neice or threat to the life of the mother which dominate the conversation. Abortions due to rape account for less than 1% of abortions, it is a red herring. This is the 21st Century, in America, no women die from child birth anymore. A friend in the Philippines died due to complications in pregnancy but that is another matter all together. In the USA she would have lived.
  • Police arrested an abortionist. I like the sound of that.
  • How many men will be happy starting 21 years from now on their wedding day.
  • You can see the consistent death ethic at large. Women have wound up the losers in the culture of death, it's just that most don't know it. Women have been forced to artificially render themselves sterile and then force marched into the workforce like drones. Most don't really seem happy about this state of affairs. The irony is that the more women abandon their babies at 6 weeks to rush lemming-like back to work, the more they depress wages for men (forcing their wives to work), for childless women and for the women with kids who are now in school. Gerbil meet wheel.
  • Most abortion supporters also support the homosexual lifestyle so I doubt they'll see the problem with a society 40% women and 60% men, in fact, they are probably titillated by it.
  • You can see the consistent life ethic in the Indian government and I hope we will see Americans opening their wallet to support these orphanages. When Roe vs. Wade is overturned the Pro-Life community is going to have to step up and support legislation and community work to deal with all the babies. That'll mean plenty of welfare spending and donations to orphanages.

Heresy Explained:

Rorate Caeli explains.

Message to China

The great image from the previous thread comes from

This is their message to the Chinese and its my message now, too.

We are pleased of your presence as viewers of our website where we reach to all people of the world. The purpose of this reaching out to China where China has been a strong opposition to the Catholic Church for many justifiable reasons and at the same time unjustifiable.

The true head of the Church Christ Himself would be in China today if He were among us and I know that He is in the new elected successor to Christ Himself because Christ has never been lived in the structure of man in absolute impartiality and justice and absolute absence of racism.

China, I come not to you with a religion, I come to you with a deep felt love for your people, your children and the continuity of your people throughout the world, my beautiful family. Many scream on the issue of Human Right while being absent of such in their own countries through the inevitable actual vision of poverty, racism, white supremacy and hatred. China is known according to the world to breech Human Right with an excessive population where it is becoming impossible to control the uncontrollable growth of population where abortions are taking place in large numbers but where in America abortions are out numbering the casualties of war and certainly not by over population otherwise immigration would be banned

World population is controllable not by sterilization nor abortions, much less starvation but by the replacement of sexual exploitation as a normal mean of life that takes away lives by excessive abuse of physical exploitation.

China I love you! That is from the heart. When you will know my love for you, you will become knowledgeable in love in such lessening the need of physical exploitation because of lack of control of the human value and the sacredness of creation. I am a Catholic, not the kind you know. The kind that draws to himself the less fortunate, the ones ignored, the ones that are hungry and mostly the ones that have lived by physical structures because true love of a parenting as I reach out to you with has appeared to be impossible. China, I love you!

The redness of your flag represents the blood of the living and the dead. The dictatorial appearance of a military style of governing shows me how I would love to love you my sons and daughters and to see a smile upon you all my children instead of living to exists in the fear of being over powered by lesser the what you attempt to portray because of your quest for a world of peace and love where all your people could live happily forever after.

This new elect Benedict the XVI is the firm hand of truth in to what this church is to become, a true mother to all the children of God and of mine. China, I love you! Give the seed time to grow in one season and China you will smile forever because love is in the air for you my children, my blessings, the women, the children, and the fathers of the nation.

I would love to visit you one day if ever permitted to come and love you in person not preaching but with a celebration of victory between two people of the same maker where military barriers will have no need to exist and where food, freedom and love will be the continuous dream upon the minds of all the living at any time of the day. China, I love you!

May the God of all people bless you leaders, defender of your nation and may your young not envy what appears to be greater in other societies but rather to look forward to those who truly love you that are also extending this true love to those who have much of a need to be loved while believing they are superior to those they neglect.

Please respond China because I love you. I am universal in my heart in such lets seek the same universality and I would love to love your nation to know who you are because division leaves us ignorant of one another and it is that ignorance that makes unity impossible.

Thank you for reading and stay in touch. I miss you my children and I truly love you.

God Bless!

Teen abortion rates jump in Hangzhou

HANGZHOU, CHINA: Abortion rates among teens in the Zhejiang Province capital have risen this month as young students rush to a free local clinic to terminate their pregnancies while on vacation from schools and colleges.

Busy doctors from the Hangzhou Youth Reproduction Health Service Center said they were struggling to keep up with the demand.

"Before, we only had two or three abortion operations a day," Zheng Weili, director of the center which provides free consultations and abortions for students, said.

"But since the winter vacation started last week, we should be doing about 10 abortions every day, and most of them are 16 to 21 year old students."

Zheng, who is in charge of a hotline about reproduction health, said callers found out about the free service, mainly from their classmates or through websites.

"I think most pregnant students don't want their schools and classmates to know," Zheng said.

Doctors have warned that too many abortions make the uterine wall thinner or even perforate, and could lead to sterility.

I wondered at the motivation of at posting this story. Was it to trumpet the success of their one child policy? No, too much coverage of school age girls. Is there the glimmer of moral reprehension at the thought of school girls filing into these clinics to get "fixed up?" Unlikely in either a communist or a Buddhist society. Perhaps someone at the Ministry of Communist Finance was complaining to the Ministry of Communist Health that their bills to the government were rising too fast. Maybe.

The key, I think, is the last sentence. Too many abortions will lead to sterility. Russia sees this now. Russia never had a population explosion due to their liquidation of rural people during the communist days but certainly today they have negative population growth due to the wide spread use of abortion and the resultant sterility.

But what is the root cause of this uptick in abortions? I think one commenter hits the nail on the head:
I thing the great sceneray (sic) of Hangshou is the root cause of these problem. We must fix this root cause, and make them into re-education opportunities for these sex crazed youth. A large concentration camp for youths to educate and train is in order. We must make them understand through hard labour and physical exercise, so that they don't have any more energy to do what they don't suppose to do.

And Now for Something Completely Different

Bulgaria's Youngest Bishop: The Pope is a Heretic

Bulgaria's youngest bishop Nikolay called the Pope a heretic on TV, bringing upon himself the wrath of fellow clerics just days after he was elected the bishop of the country's second city of Plovdiv.

Nikolay, who is one of the heads of the Orthodox Church in Bulgaria, claims that the fact that the Pope is Catholic makes him a heretic. "If he professes a different belief than the Orthodox than the church canons make him a heretic," Nikolay said for private bTV channel.

Well I suppose if you take "heretic" in the relative sense, sure, Benedict XVI is not in the Orthodox Church, hell he's not even Bulgarian. Indeed, the Pope does not reject the successor of St. Peter as the Orthodox do. Hell, Benedict XVI is the successor of St. Peter. How could he reject himself? What does St. Peter have to do with this? Well, there's that whole Mathew 16 thingy.

Bishop Nikolay impugns his own office and authority by this trash talk. The Roman Catholic recognises the Apostolic nature of the Orthodox Bishop (something not done for protestant "Bishops".) Nikolay should count this as a blessing and he should really worry about his bigger problems. Bulgaria just joined the EU so the Culture of Death and Queer Nation will be unleashed soon enough on his tiny city.

And the Other Shoe Drops

Second Blogger Quits Edwards Campaign
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A second blogger working for Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards quit Tuesday under pressure from conservative critics who said her previous online messages were anti-Catholic.

Melissa McEwan wrote on her personal blog, Shakespeare's Sister, that she left the campaign because she was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the level of attention focused on her and her family.

"This was a decision I made, with the campaign's reluctant support, because my remaining the focus of sustained ideological attacks was inevitably making me a liability to the campaign," McEwan said Tuesday night.
That's right "ideological attacks." Your twisted sister is moaning about stone throwing and then has published vicious emails claiming they are from "hateful Christians." Mr. Donahue has successfully framed the argument and the words on the blogs speak for themselves. 30 million Roman Catholics will decide what to think of these two.

Edwards said, "We're beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can't let it be hijacked." Yes, we cannot let it get hi-jacked by foul-mouthed bigots with no respect for God and the people that fear and worship Him.

Donahue noted what I said yesterday regarding the blowback to the Edwards campaign,

"It's too bad that Edwards didn't make the decision himself to get rid of them," Donohue said Tuesday night. "Why he had to wait for these women to bail on their own doesn't speak well for him."

But we can forget all this and resume our watch over this ambulance chasing, limosine liberal who likes to channel dead babies in court when he wants to win a case but has no compunction against in utero murder (aka "choice").

Edwards Campaign Shucks Off Anti-Catholic Bigot

Over at moonbat central it is all in the form of a "decision to resign" and charges that Roman Catholics don't like to see women in positions of power (thus explaining the adoration of St. Mary and the personages of Mother Angelica, Mother Theresa and Mother Cabrini.) Frankly, no campaign can tolerate unmitigated hate-filled smut. You can leave condolences for Amanda Marcotte here. Apparently she moved to Edwards' campaign HQ (in the Carolinas?) and now she is out of a job and out of dough. I sincerely hopes she hooks up with the Clinton or Obama campaign because she is a powerhouse of mainstream Democrat ideals.

Just today Wiliam Donahue of the Catholic League issued this broadside: under the headline

“John Edwards had better fire Marcotte and McEwan immediately. As I said last week on TV, these two foul-mouthed bigots are loose cannons with no particular loyalty to Edwards."

The fun thing is that there's double blowback for the Edwards campaign. (1) Leftists at Pandagon are writing Edwards off and (2) it'll get around that he refused to officially fire the bigots.

No word yet on Ms. Melissa McEwan, the other, even more foul mouthed twin. Perhaps she is being spared given her bachelors degree from Loyola University, a Jesuit institution.

Obama: I'm a Christian and I Take Religion Seriously

In a meandering article from Associated Press (not a good news source), we learn these tidbits before the leftists author wanders away from religion after the 5th paragraph out of 32 total.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Sunday he does not think voters have a litmus test on religion, whether evangelical Christianity or his childhood years in a largely Muslim country. Oh, yes we do, even the followers of the athiest religion. People want to know , if at all, religion plays a role in personal decision making.

"If your name is Barack Hussein Obama, you can expect it, some of that. I think the majority of voters know that I'm a member of the United Church of Christ, and that I take my faith seriously," Obama said in an interview with The Associated Press. What does the UCC teach? Does anybody know? Do they support gay "marriage" or late term abortion or is Obama doing the John Kerry-thing (religion for show only)?

"Ultimately what I think voters will be looking for is not so much a litmus test on faith as an assurance that a candidate has a value system and that is appreciative of the role that religious faith can play in helping shape people's lives," he said. Hmmm.. what does this mean? What does one do with this appreciation? Pat people on the head?
Then the author of the story offers this:
He attends a Chicago church with his wife and two young daughters. The 2008 presidential field also includes Republican Mitt Romney, a Mormon, and Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., an evangelical Christian who converted to Catholicism in recent years. Romney and Brownback are dead last in early polls. Whaaaat nothing to say of Hillary, Rudy, Edwards and McCain? Maybe these four are keeping their religion cards close to vest.

Why Homosexual "Marriage" Hurts Us

Why Homosexual "Marriage" Hurts Us

By John Horvat II

“Same-sex ‘marriage’ doesn’t hurt you personally, so why are you against it?” This is one of the most common pro-homosexual arguments – indeed almost a mantra repeated ad nauseam.

Of course, it’s not true that it does not hurt us. Any moral wrong undermines the common good and therefore harms all members of society.

Moreover, independent of any personal harm, the fact remains that same-sex “marriage” is not marriage. Human nature defines the properties of marriage as between a man and a woman with the primary purpose of procreation and the education of children.

We are not free to alter marriage’s essential purpose or properties. These do not depend on the will of the contracting parties but are rooted in natural law which does not change. Two individuals of the same sex will never be able to marry because of an insurmountable biological impossibility.

However, such arguments usually do not satisfy those who repeat the mantra. For them, any harm suffered must be concrete and personal. Abstract considerations about the common good or natural law are deemed meaningless

As many activists will admit, the campaign for same-sex “marriage” is not only about their impossible and sterile love but social acceptance. It is not about “rights” but making the M-word come from our lips not theirs. We are the target of the same-sex “marriage” offensive. They cannot change the nature of marriage but they can try to change us.

That is one reason why we must oppose same-sex “marriage.” The minute it is socially and legally accepted by society, we will all feel the enormous psychological pressure to renounce our moral and religious convictions.

We are not isolated individuals but social beings living together in society. What others think or do has an enormous if not decisive influence on us.

Sen. John Edwards Hires Hateful, Anti-Catholic Bigots

Warning: Link to National Review Online expose by Katheryn Jean Lopez conatains disgusting and vile language directed at the Virgin Mary and the Holy Ghost by an Edwards staffer named Ms. Amanda Marcotte.

It is the disgusting language that is causing the most outrage. I'm not covering it here.

I'll just post a bit more of the relatively substantial views on Roman Catholicism posted by the hand-picked official blogger of the John Edwards campaign. She's angry at the Church and I hope someday someone can listen to her and explain to her well.
There’s a pragmatic reason that the Vatican might be a little hesitant to come right out and say that there’s no limbo is because the concept is wielded by everyday Catholics to explain where the souls of unborn babies go, which is just an extra way to guilt trip women who have abortions. But it’s sort of a balancing act, as far as I can tell, because as most people understand it, unbaptized children go to limbo but when Jesus returns, they all get to go to heaven. So it’s a way to guilt trip women who have abortions without casting god as such an uncruel monster as to throw souls into hell that never even had a shot at sinning. So that’s limbo: it sucks enough to make women feel guilty about abortion, but it doesn’t suck so much as to run people off.

I suspect Pope Ratz will give into the urge eventually to come out and say there’s no limbo and unbaptized babies go straight to hell. He can’t help it; he’s just a dictator like that. Hey, fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, the Pope’s gotta tell women who give birth to stillborns that their babies are cast into Satan’s maw. The alternative is to let Catholic women who get abortions feel that it’ll all work out in the end, which is just not doable, due to that Jesus-like compassion the Pope is so fond of. Still, it’s going to be bad PR for the church, so you can sort of see why the Pope is dragging ass.

Which all brings me to recommending this great post by Austin Cline at Jesus’ General about why authoritarian types are so damn interested in cobbling people’s sex lives and meddling around in people’s private sexual decisions, like in this case why the Catholic church is so interested in making sure that people can’t make the perfectly sound decision to limit their family size while enjoying a healthy sex life—either you’re going to have to forgo birth control or you’re going to have to feel guilty to the point where you fear you’re casting babies into hellfire, by their standards. It’s a way to disrupt people’s lives so the church can get more control.
I think Ms. Marcotte is in some need of a proper explanation of what Roman Catholics teach about limbo, salvation, openness to life. She may have a lot of time on her hands now that the Edwards campaign has fired her according to early reports.

I feel the need to do some quick explanatory apologetics:

Forgoing birth control gives Roman Catholics more control over their lives not less. The women are not fat and cancer ridden from pills. They have their children young which studies show has some very positive health benefits for women. By having many children we are excercising control over society by populating it. Those committed to no or few children are being controlled by a society that hates children and hates families. Ha, ha, ha I haven't paid a dime in federal taxes in two years due to the enormous tax write offs for having kids. Now that's freedom!

Fundamentally, sexual decisions are not private because God can see everything we do. He knows the number of hairs on our heads. There is no hiding from God. The Pope is responsible for communicating the teaching of God as he knows it and as the Church has always taught it.

Ms. Marcotte seems nervous about the concept of Limbo, a place that is neither Hell nor Heaven. It is a peaceful place but one does not get to be with the Lord. Recently, mothers who have been murdering their babies in the womb have been declaring their children in Heaven. Sorry, Murdering Mommy, it doesn't work like that. St Peter holds the keys to Heaven not you.

Church teaching on Limbo is not a harsh teaching and it very long held. The Pope is being pressed hard on it but, of course, he cannot deny this teaching.

Friends, let us be frank. Most people are going to Hell. Jesus says so in Mathew 7 verse 13-14 Enter ye at the narroe gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it!

In hell, there will be plenty of Roman Catholics, don't you worry. St. John Chrysostom said that the floor of Hell is paved with the skull of priests and the skulls of Bishops serve as its lamposts. Being Catholic is no guarantee. Murdering your baby or supporting baby murder won't get you into Heaven either.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

This is the best written article on the resurgence of the Latin Mass ever written. The reporter gets most details right and he even exposes the problems with the Novus Ordo Missae (the new-new Mass hatched circa 1968.)

The article is so good I'm posting the whole thing (the pics are from me):

Traditional service rises in popularity with younger worshippers

JOEY REISTROFFER, For The Herald-Journal
Published January 13, 2007

The Latin Mass is not dead. It has just taken a long sabbatical. It fell a bit out of favor right after Vatican II in the 1960s. Now it is back.

That road back, however, has been long and twisting. Some, such as the St. Pius X group, even broke away from the Catholic Church to celebrate the Mass their way. That gave the Latin service a black eye.

"It's not the norm today," said Stephen Gajdosik, director of media relations for the Diocese of Charleston.

The Tridentine Latin Mass had been the celebrated service of the Catholic Church since the Council of Trent approved it in the mid-1500s. Then, in the 1960s, church leaders supported a service prayed in the vernacular. When the Novus Ordo -- Mass said in the language of a particular country or culture -- became established, the Tridentine Mass fell out of favor.

Nevertheless, Gajdosik said, the Society of St. Peter kept those Latin prayers alive. "Now it is growing in popularity," he said. "There is a resurgence."

The diocese, Gajdosik said, supports that interest.

"It allows it where pastors request it, but it does not promote it," he said.

Father Lawrence McInerny, pastor of the Stella Maris parish on Sullivan's Island, asked and was granted permission to perform the Latin Mass. The service has taken root, and word has spread.

More interest was shown at Prince of Peace in Taylors. Father Steven Brovey, the diocesan director of divine worship and pastor at Prince of Peace, went down to Stella Maris for some Latin Mass training, and now he performs a Tridentine service in Taylors on Sunday afternoons.

Steve and Aimee Miller of Spartanburg said they try to take their family to a Latin service at least once a month.

"It's such a beautiful Mass," Aimee said. She said she is amazed by "the reverence of it."

The priest faces the Crucifix and the Tabernacle.

"He's facing God," she said. "We are all offering ourselves, with the priest, to God." During the Latin Mass, Aimee said, "the prayers are so engaging, you feel a strong spiritual connection to God in heaven."

While the priest says the prayers in Latin, the Millers can follow along in their missal in English. During the consecration, those prayers are said quietly by the priest, and the atmosphere becomes solemn, holy.

"The silence adds to the solemnity and the reverence of the Mass," agreed Lori Dorchak of Greer. Prayer has a chance to blossom in that silence, she said.

She said the Latin Mass has brought her husband, Jim, and their family closer together in the study of their faith.

"You have to watch carefully. A lot of it is not heard. You follow along and pray," Dorchak said. "It's not meant to be easy."

When the family began attending the Latin service at Prince of Peace, Dorchak said the Mass was a challenge.

"It threw me at first. But my husband loved it so much that I had to sink or swim."

She chose to swim by referring to The Catechism of the Catholic Church and studying her Catholic beliefs. Her family joined her in that study.

"It's not always touchy, feely. It's not about people. It's about God. It brings you up to God," Dorchak said.

She said her family was awed by the pageantry of the Latin Mass, with its incense, bells and even all the altar boys who are allowed to serve.

"We've had 17 altar boys at one Mass," Dorchak said.

She said her family is drawn to the reverence and depth of the service.

Aimee Miller said the Tridentine Mass goes way beyond the Novus Ordo. Dorchak agrees.

"The old prayers are very deep and meaningful, and a lot of it has been left behind by the Novus Ordo," she said.

The Dorchak said they prefer the Latin Mass. They see it as a return to the traditions of the church.

No, the Latin Mass is not dead. Instead, it is being resurrected by believers like the Millers and the Dorchaks, who want a fuller measure and understanding of their faith.

Great Blog: V is for Victory

Ran accross this great blog while commenting on the Latin Mass over at Cafeteria is Closed. V is for Victory is run by a lawyer living in Boise, ID named Anita Moore. Anita does not have access to the Latin Mass as the nearest one is apparently 300 miles away. Let's pray for the return of the Latin Mass for those who wish to hear it and pray it.

Her current post brought to mind a conversation among friends just a few days ago.

We were discussing my post on the whole Hillary vs. Obama thing. Mary from Against All Heresies suggested that it was better to have a communist than a Muslim. A few folks suggested that Obama is a Christian. Then others said it should not matter because there is a wall between church and state. They presumably said this to mean that religion is off limits when analyzing candidates.

Here's the problem: the "wall between church and state" refers to a restriction on the State from establishing a religion. Here's the original words by Thomas Jefferson:

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between church and State.

Anita Moore writes, "
Thomas Jefferson said that in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association on January 1, 1802. Let the attackers of Christian marriage and Christianity take note."

These words are quite simple and so is the Constitution's First Amendment of which Jefferson wrote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
It's pretty simple. No official State religion, not even secular humanism or athiesm. If a politician or a citizen wants to speak out about religion then that is okay (for now.)

St Bernadette, Incorruptable, Apostle of the Immaculate Conception

Color - St Bernadette as her body appears today.

Black and white - as she looked in 1879 at the time of her demise.

Bernadette Soubirous is the saint of Lourdes, France. Visionary and messenger of the Immaculate Conception, she told us the very words of the Virgin Mary, spoken in the native Basque tongue of Southern France and Northern Spain. She spoke words teaching of the merits of prayer, penance, poverty and church. In the first and most widely recognized Marian apparition of modern times, a personal message was delivered also to Bernadette—She would not find happiness in this world, but only in the next.

She was to die twenty–one years later in 1879 after a prolonged and painful illness. She remained hidden in a convent about 300 miles from home, a refuge from the interrogations and the pilgrims that never ceased seeking her. At thirty–five, her strong–willed manner gave way to her frail body, and she finally entered into her eternal happiness.

While she took with her the knowledge of certain secrets the Virgin gave her, one secret remained hidden in our presence. The most spectacular of all the incorruptibles, Bernadette's miraculously preserved body remained buried in a damp grave for thirty years until the cause for beatification was taken up. To this day, the body of Bernadette is a profound source of inspiration and of mystery surrounding the ways of the Lord. The face of Bernadette is one of surreal beauty, and will remain for us always the face that gazed into the eyes of the Mother of God.

When Italians Attack

The Italian futbol scene has collapsed:

Normally, a post by me on the subject of Italian fubol would include long diatribes against the impossibly passive, soporific and sissified style of play. It appears the Italian fans have begun to boil over and have taken to rioting, murder and mayhem.

The headlines tell the whole story.

Nature Abhors a Vacuum

Current birth rates could produce Muslim domination

by Chad Groening from Journal Chretien

The Population Research Institute says the Western world is facing a crisis as virtually every country has birth rates well below the replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman.

A pro-family organization has done extensive research into birth rates around the world and has concluded that if the Western world wants to survive, it better start having more children. The Population Research Institute (PRI) says virtually every Western or Westernized nation on the planet is slowly dying off because birth rates have fallen below the 2.1-child-per-woman replacement level.

PRI spokesman Joseph D’Agostino says for the most part, only Muslims have high birth rates. "It’s because Christians and Jews are refusing to have children, refusing to get married, [and] having such low birth rates that the Muslims are going to inherit the Earth," he explains. "It’s not anything theMuslims are doing ; it’s what Christians and Jews are not doing."

D’Agostino says the future of the world will certainly be quite different if Muslims become the dominate population group in the coming decades. "I think we can see what life is like in Islamic countries," he says. "I think Christians know that it’s a false religion. And we can see that the Muslim world is becoming actually more radical and, in many ways, is headed backwards into its barbaric phase."

D’Agostino notes that it is only through immigration that the U.S. population continues to grow — and that the current situation begs a pragmatic solution : "If you don’t want the world to turn into Saudi Arabia, maybe people other than Muslims need to start having some kids at the rate the Muslims are having kids."

I've got a theory that many post feminist women secretly long for the burqua. Contemptuousness of Christianity, which built the very civilization which liberated them in the first place, the emptiness in their spiritual life, the weariness of a full time career, the frustration of dealing with selfish and immature men (a by-product of the butch feminism that pervades our society) all leads to one place: to give up and give in to the desire to be dominated.

This is unfortunate and it is certainly unbecoming a Christian woman. This society needs strong and feminine women. These are the type of women that we need to raise our boys, in them, the boys will see a future role model for a wife. Our little girls will aspire to be like their mothers. Instead we see a diabolical disorientation. The boys, as young men, remain in an infantile and single state (the two Boston lite-brite pranksters serve as an exmple.) The girls seek to imitate their father just as their mother tries to emulate the father.
Net result: 37 year olds with no kids.

Even the perfectly well adjusted are affected because this is what they run into in the dating scene. My brother reports this me from Italy - a nation full of 37 year old women (and men, but does not date them) who are impossibly complicated and still live with Mommy and Daddy. This is a recipe for demographic collapse.

The good news: Nature abhors a vacuum.

The bad news: Islam is supplying the babies.

Gov. of Texas Decrees That He is the Parent Of All Texas' Children

Texas Requires STD Vaccine for Girls

Associated Press Writer

AUSTIN (AP) -- Gov. Rick Perry ordered Friday that schoolgirls in Texas must be vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer, making Texas the first state to require the shots.

Merck is bankrolling efforts to pass laws in state legislatures across the country mandating it Gardasil vaccine for girls as young as 11 or 12. It doubled its lobbying budget in Texas and has funneled money through Women in Government, an advocacy group made up of female state legislators around the country.

Perry has several ties to Merck and Women in Government. One of the drug company's three lobbyists in Texas is Mike Toomey, his former chief of staff. His current chief of staff's mother-in-law, Texas Republican state Rep. Dianne White Delisi, is a state director for Women in Government.

Toomey was expected to be able to woo conservative legislators concerned about the requirement stepping on parent's rights and about signaling tacit approval of sexual activity to young girls....

Perry, a conservative Christian who opposes abortion rights and stem- cell research using embryonic cells, counts on the religious right for his political base.

But he has said the cervical cancer vaccine is no different than the one that protects children against polio.

"If there are diseases in our society that are going to cost us large amounts of money, it just makes good economic sense, not to mention the health and well being of these individuals to have those vaccines available," he said.
By mandating inoculation against a sexually transmitted disease the Governor of Texas, a plastic haired Evangelical Protestant, has decreed the following:

(1) He is the parent off all children in his state.
(2) He's got money on the mind and his mind on the money.
(3) That "his" children will have sex outside of marriage anyway (and/or he predicts the infidelity of their spouses)
(4) That since fear of contracting diseases encourages chastity, he'll fix that by decree.
(5) That rapists in his state need not fear either contracting or spreading any more disease than is necessary, the same goes for the promiscuous.
(6) That young women are fair game for sexual activity, after all, they're protected!
(7) That he has no moral compass, a usual symptom of protestant heretics, with delusions of grandeur fueled by excessive hairspray.

This insidious decision points to a major flaw in having government control health care especially when the government officials are owned by Big Pharma. When they do this, there's an incentive to control behavior. Perry is going for the jugular. Note bene he's not offering free vaccination or warning citizens that the state will no longer cover diseases that are easily inoculated against, he's calling for the shots.

Merck donated to his campaign and stands to make tons of dough off this. Surprised? This man has no soul. He is a whore, bought and paid for and his Momma, too.

What about your wife, Rick? How about mandatory syphilis shots for her? I mean, after all, she's married to you.

Boston Under Attack by Pot Smoking 20-Somethings

Boston officials were exposed as jackasses by operatives from Ted Turner's Cartoon Network. Somehow a cartoon publicity stunt played out like a full-scale "Religion of Peace" Alert. In a way Boston acted appropriately as it will soon be the host of the largest mosque in the United States.

The funny thing about this was that I was driving home from work, with Boston at my back, interestedly listening for details on the latest terrorism eminating from Boston. Unfortunately, I just had to sit there patiently while the mayor of Boston tried to say something. It's not clear whether he speaks English or not. The radio commentator made the observation that he finally has found someone who has more difficulty with English than George Bush.

Luckily, today these two fine, young gentlemen took to the airwaves to clear up matter. Next, for real comic relief I'll try to hunt down audio of Mayor Mumbles Menino.
